RF Sons Engineering Pty Ltd is a Sydney-based building services engineering consultancy specialising in the provision of skilled engineers and technical professionals to major construction and infrastructure projects.
We partner with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors to deliver mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire services, and specialist engineering resources across the project lifecycle — from design through to commissioning and handover.
Our current focus is hyperscale data centres. We are engaged on the AirTrunk HTR KUR and MEL03 campuses and the Microsoft SYD01 & SYD02 and AKL03 programmes, providing services and electrical tender support, construction engineering and design verification, construction methodology and commissioning strategy.

Extensive experience in building services engineering across major infrastructure and commercial projects. Currently leading services and electrical tender support on hyperscale data centres, covering reference design and technical schedule interrogation, construction methodology, commissioning strategy, technical returnables and owner-supplied equipment constructability across the AirTrunk HTR KUR and MEL03 campuses and the Microsoft SYD01 & SYD02 bid. Earlier project involvement includes Sydney Metro — Victoria Cross Station and Waterloo Station, delivering MEP coordination, commissioning management, and contract administration for Tier 1 contractors.
Construction engineer with a design and research background and fifteen years across heavy civil, rail and vertical construction. Currently leading the construction engineering workstreams on two Microsoft hyperscale data centre programmes — SYD01 & SYD02 at Huntingwood and AKL03 in Auckland — covering retaining and ground improvement design packages, buried services investigation, piling design verification, earthworks verification and construction methodology. Specialist in temporary works, crane and lift studies, federated BIM coordination and virtual construction. PhD Civil Engineering and BE (Hons) First Class, University of Auckland; Member, Engineering New Zealand.
Services and MEP delivery specialist across metro stations, tunnels and major infrastructure. Supported Cross River Rail through construction completion and handover to testing and commissioning, driving handover of TVS, TVCS, HVAC and BMCS and closeout of ITPs, ITCs, lots, NCRs and RFIs. Previously led the tunnel mechanical and electrical works at Sydney Metro Waterloo Station — HV AC and DC switchgear, transformers, tunnel ventilation and LV distribution — and managed MEP procurement and delivery across six greenfield stations on Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport.
